Bromley 1 St Albans City 1 – BSS – 11/09/2010 – Colin Head
Bromley’s winning run came to an end at Hayes Lane on Saturday against a resilient and well organised St Albans who were well worth their point and could have had all three but for a controversial disallowed first half goal.
Bromley started brightly, but they were soon pinned back by the direct and powerful style of The Saints. Jean-Michel Sigere shot just wide and on 9mins Peter Smith had a goal ruled out by the Linesman despite running through the defence on a solo run. Inih Effiong headed over soon after and Sigere went close again before the game became scrappy and disjointed for a long period. Then out of the blue Bromley went in front in first half injury time when Tony Finn latched on to a Warren McBean pass and finished sweetly after going round the last defender and the wrong footed Keeper.
The second half saw St Albans draw level within 5minutes when Mark Peters headed home a corner from the left. Both sides traded chances with Sigere and Finn going closest before Bromley finally had a spell on top. Nic McDonnell had two efforts blocked following a corner, Finn forced a save from Paul Bastock who also denied Jerome Sobers soon after. Late on Tutu Henriques headed a superb Finn dead ball just wide and McDonnell had a goal ruled out for offside, but The Ravens couldn’t find a winner. In injury time Saints sub Adam Martin was sent off for persistent dissent only minutes after coming on.

Quote for the game, 'I'd have taken that at 3pm.' - Garvo.

Bromley: Foderingham, Graves, Dunk, Henriques, Scarborough, Finn, Daly, Sobers, Dolby, McBean, Vines. Subs: Greene, McDonnell, Fray, Butler, Boyle.
